AUSTRALIAN OPEN ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST CITY BALLARAT,(BUNINYONG) 2010
FANTASTIC AUSTRALIAN OPEN ROAD CHAMPIONS
Young West Australian Travis Meyer upset the big-guns to score a shock victory in the Australian Open Road Championships at Buninyong on Sunday, January 10. Meyer 20, defeated Queenslander David Kemp, with local Ballarat hero Damien Turner in third place. Turner 32, also won the Ballarat Courier King of the Mountains title, held in conjunction with the road championships. Kemp also took out the Mars Sprint category. The 163km championships was raced in stifling hot conditions before a 15,000-strong crowd.
